Our client, a leading publisher services business, requires a new Sales Director to increase sales of its core products throughout the USA, selling to publishers, societies and universities.
Key Responsibilities:
- To meet sales targets
- Continuously building a pipeline of leads within the academic publishing sector and academic institution market, and following them up for successful closures.
- Identifying decision makers and research prospects’ contact information.
- Actively building connections with potential customers
- Working with the Product Development team to help to progress opportunities through.
- Keep well informed of market trends, reporting to the senior management team on potential opportunities for growth and development.
- Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of our products and services.
- Working closely with the Product Development team to support engagement with customers and potential customers through the product development process.
- Provide new business/sales forecasts to the senior management team.
- Maintain accurate and current data on the company CRM system
- Preparing and giving sales presentations/product demonstrations.
- Attended conferences nationally and internationally.
Skills & Experience
- At least 4 years of sales experience, preferably within the publishing sector or library sales
- Proven record of generating and achieving/exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with customers and maintain and build on relationships with existing customers.
- Previous experience of selling SaaS type solutions to US institutions
- Good understanding of AI technology.
- A commitment to outstanding levels of customer care.
- Ability to understand market trends and customer needs, and feedback on potential gaps in the market and how they may be best met.
- Ability to prepare sales reports/analyses to the senior management team.
- Ability to prepare and present sales presentations.
- Co-ordinating booths and attendance at industry exhibitions and conferences
