Salary: £62,000 Basic + £35,000 Bonus
Our client is a leading software business that serves the academic and life science markets. Due to continued growth, they require a new Account Executive with a SaaS / Academic background. You will play a crucial role in expanding the company’s presence in the European market, driving the adoption of its innovative solutions across academic and research institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and surpass quarterly and annual sales targets by securing new clients in the academic sector.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify new client opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through strategic networking and prospecting.
- Manage the entire sales process from initial outreach to closing deals, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Lead discovery and demo calls, showcasing our SaaS solutions to potential clients.
- Apply consultative selling techniques to understand client needs and offer customised solutions.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers within target organisations.
- Create and deliver persuasive client proposals and presentations that emphasise the value of our solutions.
- Ensure client satisfaction and retention by providing ongoing support and addressing any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, and customer success) to align efforts and enhance sales initiatives.
- Utilise CRM systems to track sales activities, manage client data, and generate strategic reports.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to uncover new opportunities and challenges.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree Educated
- 3 years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, preferably within the academic or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of the academic sector, including navigating complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales goals in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with CRM platforms and sales tools
- Experience selling to or working with academic libraries is a plus.
- Highly motivated, goal-driven, and adept at problem-solving and negotiation.
