Our client, a rapidly expanding provider of video solutions for the medical research and education industry, is seeking a new VP of Business Development & Sales.
Due to ambitious growth plans, we seek a dynamic and strategic business development leader to join our team and lead the design and execution of our new growth strategy. This role demands a seasoned leader with exceptional business instincts, who can develop effective go-to-market strategies and gain and build customer trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct (and then lead) institutional sales initiatives
- Create and implement a comprehensive business development plan aligned with the overall business strategy
- Present business strategies, progress updates, and key initiatives to the leadership team.
- Drive new client prospecting and development, ensuring a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Scale (hire, train, manage) a high-performing sales team
- Foster a positive and high-performance culture, setting clear expectations and providing ongoing support and feedback.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with key industry stakeholders and prospects (academic, clinical, industry)
- Analyse and action market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities
- Maintain, develop and strengthen relationships with agents/distribution partners, monitoring their progress according to agreed targets.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience / deep understanding of scaling a publishing business
- Experience in sales, marketing, and strategy in medical education or related industries
- Proven track record of high-value sales, achieving ambitious revenue goals and executing go-to-market strategies
- A solid understanding of medical education, with an emphasis on surgery
- A strong ability to lead and develop high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent communicator, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Highly motivated self-starter, excited about forging new client relationships.
