Deepak Kumbhat takes over as new Managing Director (Country Head) of Thieme India. He brings with him extensive expertise and experience in setting up and managing captive service centers, which he will bring to Thieme India across the board to further advance standardization of publication processes. He joins Thieme from Ramboll, a Danish consulting firm, where he was responsible for setting up, managing and transforming global finance shared services.
In his new role, Deepak Kumbhat will particularly focus on the further development of the captive services in the (Open Access) publication processes that Thieme India provides for the Thieme Science portfolio. Providing P&L leadership for the India and South Asia business, he also heads the Finance and HR team in this capacity. Deepak will also be promoting and supporting the expansion of the product portfolio under the leadership of Dr. Nabajyoti Kar, who joined Thieme India earlier this year as Senior Director Product Portfolio.

Deepak Kumbhat takes over from Ajit Kohli, who will retire after serving as Managing Director after 17 years. Under his leadership, Thieme India has grown from a sales and marketing location to a unit with its own portfolio and production services, which are critically important for Thieme’s globally aligned publication activities in the science sector.
