Kimberly (Kim) Lau has joined Springer Nature as VP, Consumer Media and President of Scientific American. In this role, Kim will drive further growth of Springer Nature’s Consumer Media business. She will also have publishing responsibility for Scientific American, the longest continuously published magazine in the US, and its international editions, such as Spektrum der Wissenschaft in Germany and Investigacion y Ciencia in Spain.
Kim has had a long and successful track record in the consumer publishing and magazine industry. From 2012 to 2021, Kim was at the Atlantic Monthly Group, most recently as Executive Vice President Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at The Atlantic. Prior to that, she was Vice President, Business Development and Partner Relations at Hearst Magazines.
